Blue Saran Wrap Technique

Pumpkins fresh from the patch.

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging over the last few days. I went on a weekend trip to Southern Illinois with my boyfriend. We had a blast! We went hiking at the Garden of the Gods. It was gorgeous! We even went to a pumpkin patch where we explored the straw mazes, went on a carriage ride and catapulted some gourds. Good old redneck fun.

Let me show you the polish I was wearing for the occasion.

Zombie Splatter

I've got a multicolored splatter to show you today! A kind of zombie apocalypse meets Jackson Pollock.

Behold the Alien Queen

Behold the Alien Queen

Look at this monster. Apparently, that's a squash. I'm not sure I believe it, though, because it appears to be some intergalactic life form that would feel more at home on the set of Alien.

It's terrifying... But still it's proven to be excellent manicure inspiration.

A Pirate's Life For Me

Ahoy there!

I have a slight obsession with pirates. I swear I was probably a lady swashbuckler in a past life.

Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge Day 3: Bloody Nails

Here I am on day three of the Nail-Aween challenge; Bloody Nails. No one said the blood had to be human. No one said it couldn't be, for instance, radioactive zombie blood.

Wolf Fur

I love animal prints. However, as we near Halloween, I'm beginning to question the seasonal appropriateness of cheetah and zebra print. Thus was born the wolf fur manicure.

Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge Day 1: Water Marble

This is day one of the Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge. Would you believe this is my first challenge? I always wanted to participate in one but I was always seemed to find out about them a bit too late. Not this time!

I have a confession: I'm still not over this whole crackled thing. I know most of you were more than ready to move on but I just can't let go! So imagine my delight when I found a bottle of China Glaze Haute Metal waiting for my in my mailbox.

Scales

This is Ares.

I recently got a new fish. He's a Double Tail Plakat Betta. He's so pretty and feisty! I decided to call him Ares. I fell in love with his colors, such real shades of copper, gold, blue and teal all with a bit of lovely iridescence. He's rather hard to photograph, sadly. His blues don't show up terribly well.

I decided to honor him with a manicure.
