Today I'd like to show you a quick swatch of an awesome black light reactive polish from CoverGirl. This is Laser Light from the Glowing Lights collection.

Laser Light is a lovely dark midnight purple. I'd call it a dark orchid with a hint of blue. It's an absolutely lovely color and a true stunner even without taking into account its black light capabilities. I decided to have a bit of fun with this polish by doing a quick black water spot effect over it. As you can see it looked really great under a black light!

This polish is available in a 3.5ml Glosstini mini. Application was easy, even though the tiny brush left a bit to be desired.
Who says Saint Patrick's day has to be green?

Saint Patrick's day is just around the corner and I wanted to do something a little different. I love green and gold, but I love rainbows so much more! A pastel rainbow water marble seemed like just the thing.

I started with two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. For the marble I used Sally Hansen Pink Blink, Sinful Colors Cloud 9, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Zoya Blu and Zoya Marley. And, since I like to mix things up, I tried for a different marbling pattern on each finger. I know many prefer repeating marbles but I like a bit of variation since it gives the pattern a more organic look - and it's fun!

Glam Roc in natural light.

Today I have a great textured polish to show you. This is Glam Roc, from the Julep Maven February subscription box. Glam Roc is a lightly textured deep purple matte glitter with hints of gold and green.

My camera did not want to photograph this one at all! It's not as dark in person, and appears more purple and glittery. It was terribly fickle and photo shy, unfortunately. To make up for this, I photographed it under natural and artificial light.

Glam Roc in natural light.

Over all, this was a surprisingly nice polish. It wasn't without its faults, however. This polish was incredibly thick and the application was messy as a result. It only required one to two coats, which was nice, but those coats were quite gooey. The consistency was a big turn off for me.

It did wear well, however. Like most matte polishes, it was a bit prone to tip wear but I didn't experience any chipping while wearing it and it held up well enough. The texture is fairly subtle so it was very easy to wear.

I really love doing stone inspired
nails. I've been planning a bunch of different manicures and I've
finally gotten around to realizing this one - Jade!

Jade is actually a blanket term used
for two different minerals – Jadeite and Nephrite. While Jade is
best known for its green coloration it can actually come in a very
wide variety of colors, including pink and even blue.

Because it is not unusual for Jade to
show variations in color, I decided to use multiple shades of green
to pull this off. I even used a hint of gray to mute the color a bit.
If you want to recreate this look, don't be afraid to experiment. You could really use any colors you like.

To start, I painted my nails with two
coats of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. After allowing that to dry I
sponged on a bit of Essie Chinchilly and Wet n' Wild Sagreena the
Teenage Witch. To achieve the look of veining, I used the water
spotting technique with Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and then did a
second water spotted layer with Wet n' Wild Sagreena the Teenage
Witch. The second layer added more depth and realism.

What do you think? I'm honestly very
pleased with how nicely these came out!

I have a simple one shot manicure to show you today. It's starting to feel like autumn here so I'm switching over to a nice fall pallette.

This actually started out as a candy corn gradient but I wasn't 100% thrilled with the result so I decided to add a grunge inspired layer of black using the saran wrap technique. The result is somewhat reminiscent of both autumn leaves and Monarch butterfly wings, don't you think?

The colors used for the gradient are Pure Ice Show Stopper, Pure Ice Drive Me Crazy and Sinful Colors Snow Me White. The black is Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris.

Today I want to show you Mercury Twilight, a beautiful linear holographic polish by Layla. Like any holographic polish, Mercury Twilight comes to life in full natural lighting but it looks lovely under artificial lighting as well! This is a powerful full spectrum holo and I can't recommend it enough.

I've swatched two coats of Mercury Twilight over one coat of Essie No Place Like Chrome. To achieve a smooth application I lightly buffed my nails before painting them to remove any ridges. I've been told this is key to flawless holographic application and it certainly worked for me. No interruptions at all, just awesome holo goodness.

I'm so happy with this polish! I couldn't even bring myself to apply any nail art over it - that's how much I love it! Next time I'll definitely try to incorporate it into a design but for now I'm just going to stare at my nails and admire the rainbow awesomeness. I'm so tempted to buy more of this collection now. I think I'm hooked!

What do you think? What's your favorite holo polish?

You may have heard that Hard Candy recently released new glitter polishes. I picked up a bottle of Pop Rocker because the red was by far my favorite. These new glitters are fairly similar to the Hard Candy black and white glitter Black Tie Optional, though they lack the large black hex glitter.

To show the difference between Pop Rocker and Black Tie Optional I thought it would be fun to swatch them on two glass cabochons for a comparison. I used Sally Hansen Polar Bare as a base but, as you can see, the white glitter in both polishes was lost... Opps!

Because swatching it over white, even an off-white, proved to be such a horrible idea, I reswatched Pop Rocker over OPI A Woman's Prague-ative, which is just about the most perfect autumn polish ever. Much better!
I'm not generally a fan of glitters, but I do love the look of Pop Rocker. It's versatile and the formula was wonderful. I have no issues with the application at all. What do you think? Have you tried any of the Hard Candy glitters yet?Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-44837081192056910892013-08-02T03:55:00.000-07:002013-08-02T03:55:58.698-07:00Dapple Grey

I love unusual animal prints, as you
have perhaps noticed. Today's manicure was inspired by my love of
horses - specifically dappled grey horses.

I started off with a simple gradient,
using Sally Hansen Eel Skin as my base and darkening the tips with
Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris. I lightened the top of the gradient
using Sally Hansen Polar Bare. After allowing my gradient to dry, I
dipped a cotton swab in white polish, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me
White, and added spots to my nails. I tried not to make these spots
appear too regular. I then applied a matte top coat. I used Essie
Matte About You.

The matte coat is important, as it
preps the nail for the next step. I'd realized some time ago that
matte top coats give the nail surface just enough “tooth” to make
it possible to draw on them using colored pencils and other art
supplies. Pretty neat, right? It's important to make sure everything
is really dry, or else you'll gouge big ugly dents into your polish
instead of drawing.

I used Prismacolor pencils because
that's what I had laying around. I used a black pencil to define the
dapples, and a white to go back in and fade out any areas where the
definition was too strong. After I was happy with my dapples, I added
another layer of matte top coat.

So, what do you think? I realize this
is pretty different and definitely not for everyone but it's fun to try new techniques!
I
realized that it's been a while since I've done a water marble. Water
marbling is one of my favorite techniques, so I obviously had to remedy
this!

I wasn't really sure what I was going for with this water marble, except that I wanted to use OPI Just Spotted the Lizard.
I recently received this polish as a gift from my lovely friend,
Mithril and I've been having a difficult time deciding what to do with
it. So, going off of that, I gathered up some other polishes with a
similar effect and got to work.

I started off with a black base using Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris. The colors I used for the marble were OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, Sinful Colors Show Me the Way, and Wet n Wild Grey's Anatomy. The result was a subtle, dark marble reminiscent of scarab beetles and oil slicks. Beautiful, in my opinion!Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-62422144604202490162013-07-23T21:14:00.000-07:002013-07-23T21:14:30.211-07:00Nautical Gradient
My fiance woke me up early yesterday suggesting that we drive to the coast. It was a chilly overcast Monday, which was a welcome reprieve from the heat and humidity Maine has been getting. The perfect day to go to the ocean!

Oddly enough, I'd painted my nails Sunday night in a sort of nautical gradient in order to try out some decals I just ordered from the Born Pretty Store. The gradient was done using Essie Sweet Talker and Naughty Nautical. The compass rose is from the decal sheet.

Hello, everyone! I am so sorry for my absence! Life has been rather crazy, but luckily it's been crazy in a good way. I got engaged on July 5th to my boyfriend of two years and we've been enjoying the summer as best we can given the temperamental and unpredictable weather we're having in Maine.

The never ending humidity has made regular manicures very difficult (ugh, air bubbles and sticky polish!) but enough is enough. Time to get back to business.

Today I have Maybelline Color Show Blue Marks the Spot to show you. This color looks amazing in the bottle, sort of a denim with a mix of black and white matte glitters in varying sizes. Upon application, however, I found the base was very sheer.

I decided to layer it over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, which is considerably brighter than the blue base for Blue Marks the Spot. Luckily, after applying two layers, Blue Marks the Spot muted Pacific Blue just a touch so I ended up with a color somewhere between the two.

I'm absolutely in love with this polish. It's very eye catching and the application was a breeze. The glitters are suspended in the base perfectly and I didn't have to do any digging at all to catch them. I found two coats to be just the right amount of glitter.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I promise not to vanish again!Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-24786876076634801392013-06-21T21:49:00.000-07:002013-06-21T22:13:01.801-07:00Calico

Hello everyone! Today I finally got around to experimenting with some calico patterned nail art. I've been wanting to try this for a while now. I don't know why I waited so long! I absolutely love how this came out!

This was inspired by my own calico cat, Tessa. My boyfriend and I took Tessa in last March. She originally belonged to a friend of my boyfriend who could no longer keep her due to moving. He was so set on finding her a good home that he paid all transport fees from New Mexico to Maine. Such a long way for a little kitty to travel! She's settled in very well and we simply adore her. She's incredibly sweet, and very bossy.

This was actually very straight forward. I started off by painting my nails white with Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I topped the white with a layer of essie Marshmallow to soften it a bit and to give me a creamier, more neutral color.

I allowed my base color to dry before mixing up three colors of acrylic paint: black, orange and and brown. Why three colors? I wanted the brown to act as an intermediary color between the black and orange to help blend them together. I then took a fan brush and dipped it in my colors, taking care not to mix them together. I put brown on the middle of my brush, and the orange and black went on the outside bristles.

I gently removed some of the excess paint by making a few quick strokes on a piece of scrap paper before applying the paint to my nails. Starting at the outer edge, I dragged the brush inward and stopped at about the middle of my nail. Most nails only received one stroke of paint, but some had small touchups. Everything was topped with a generous layer of Seche Vite.

Hello! The local Rite-Aid was having a sale on polish! As a result, I landed a pretty nice haul! I'm going to be swathing and posting the results over the next few days. First up is L.A. Girl 3D Silver from the 3D Effects collection.

This isn't a new polish, but it is new to me. I'm a bit behind (as are most local retailers)!

The polish has a clear base loaded with tons of irregular holographic particles. It took me about three layers before I was happy with the opacity but it was still a bit sheer looking depending on how the light hit it. Four coats may have been better.

The holographic effect wasn't very strong but it's still quite nice,
especially in direct sunlight. It's nice on it's own, but I wanted to
play around a bit so I added some black stars using Revlon Nail Art
Stencils. I've featured these stencils before and I absolutely love how easy they are to use and how crisp the resulting designs are.

My overall verdict on L.A. Girl 3D Silver is that it's a great budget holo with a nice, if somewhat muted, effect. What do you think? On a whim I picked up a bottle of Pure Ice Tickle Me Pink. I'm usually not into sheers or pinks but I really loved this polish!

Shown is three coats, at which point it was almost, but not quite, opaque. I had absolutely zero problems with the application, and sheer polishes always seem to give me trouble, so I was impressed! This seemed to give my nails a nice healthy glow and I can definitely see myself wearing this one a lot in the future.

This is an awesome budget polish. Has anyone else tried Tickle Me Pink? What did you think?

Hello! I recently hit 10,000 views on my blog. I know it's a very small milestone but I'm very excited! To celebrate, I'm doing my first giveaway.

In my last post, I showcased the Salon Perfect matte neon glitters from the Neon Collision collection. Shocked was clearly the favorite! I picked up an extra so that I could share it with all of you.

This giveaway is open to those living in Europe, Oceania and North America except where prohibited. However, I am willing to make exceptions. For anyone outside these areas, as long as the shipment of nail polish is alright by your local regulations you're more than welcome to join. I will pay the shipping fees (within reason). Any questions? Feel free to email me!

I'm sure the beautiful Neon Collision matte neon glitters by Salon Perfect need no introduction. Let's get right to the swatches, shall we?

My local Walmart has actually had these polishes happily situated next to the bathing suits for a few weeks now. I bought them immediately but didn't have time to properly swatch them until now. This was made even more difficult by the insistent rain we're been having here. It's so difficult to get nice photos when everything is dark and dismal. I really need to construct a light-box!

I decided to swatch these polishes side by side in order to showcase their lovely complementary nature. Kaboom and Zapped, turquoise and green, were layered over a white base and I used at least three coats for full coverage. A bit of dabbing in order to fill in some patchy spots was necessary as well. Application was a little tedious but about what I expected really.

Bang and Jolt, the orange and yellow polishes in the collection, were also applied over a white base. I absolutely love these two! They're so bright. Sadly I am missing Exploded, the reddish orange polish in this collection. I was not able to find at the local Walmart. It didn't appear that any had sold out so maybe it just didn't make it onto the display?

Last, but not least, we have Shocked. Shocked is a lovely blend of pink and blue. Strangely, this polish doesn't have a complementary color mate, so I swatched it all by its lonesome. That's alright though, because Shocked is fabulous. Instead of layering it over white, I decided to try it over a colored base. I used Sinful Colors Cream Pink and it's actually a pretty good match for the pink in Shocked. It made the application quite a bit easier, and much more forgiving. This is only two coats, as opposed to the three or more required when layering these over a white base.

So, what do you think? Have you tried the Neon Collision collection yet?

In case you didn't know, today is National Doughnut Day! Time to celebrate the joy that can only be found in a glazed fried pastry!

Unfortunately for me, the only doughnut repository in my area is Dunkin Donuts. There's two in the very small town I live in. It's honestly a little disturbing just how many locations they have in Maine. So, you'll have to forgive me for not being able to present wonderful, fresh, gorgeous, warm and gooey confections to you. I was, however, able to snag a strawberry glazed doughnut with sprinkles. It'll have to do.

For my base color I used two layers of Sally Hansen Pink Blink. The pink Sprinkles were done in L'Oréal Members Only and the white and orange sprinkles were done in acrylic paint.

Who celebrated National Doughnut Day? What is your favorite type of doughnut? Mine is personally Boston Cream, but sprinkles are just so cute!

Today the Near-Earth asteroid, 1998 QE2, will be making a fly by. I'm a huge geek, and I love space, so I figured this was as good a time as any to finally sit down and do some galaxy nails.

Galaxy nails are something I've attempted before but they never came out exactly as I'd hoped they would... Which is why I've never posted any here. So, instead of going all out and risking another messy failure, I decided to just stick to the basics.

I used two coats of Sally Hansen Black Out for my base. The sponging was done with Sally Hansen Co-Bolt Blue, Sally Hansen Eel Skin, Sally Hansen Model Behavior, L'Oréal Members Only and Sinful Colors Cream Pink.

For the "stars" I used two different top coats. The first was Sally Hansen Glass Slipper, a slight iridescent flaky with a nice silver sparkle. The second was Hard Candy Celebrate Sequins, a mix of holographic glitters. Since both of these polishes pack a punch, I used them sparingly.

Happy Near-Earth asteroid day, everyone!Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-13502900170706595362013-01-15T21:01:00.000-08:002013-01-15T21:01:27.735-08:00Rainbow Spotted

I am so sorry for my long absence! As I mentioned before, I recently moved from Chicago, Illinois to Western Maine. The move went very well but I've been so busy getting everything in order that I haven't had much time to myself.

However, I am back now and hopefully I'll settle back into a regular posting schedule. So now, without further ado, allow me to introduce today's manicure.

When I saw cutepolish's amazing Water Spotted Tutorial I just knew I had to try it for myself. She has such fantastic ideas, doesn't she? I never would have thought of floating polish on water and spritzing it with a solution containing alcohol. Brilliant! And isn't the effect amazing?

To start, I used OPI Alpine Snow to give my nails a nice white base. Then I applied Sally Hansen Model Behavior, Nicole by OPI One Time Lime, Sinful Colors Let's Talk, and Sinful Colors Cream Pink to create a rainbow effect. The black polish I used for the water spotting effect was L.A. Colors Circuits.

This was actually quite simple. The tutorial was accurate and easy to follow. The only issue I ran into was that the spray on my hand sanitizer is super powerful! I had to hold it as far away as possible from the polish so as not to completely destroy it. I definitely need to try this with another brand of sanitizer!Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-43803692413473527432012-12-07T13:31:00.000-08:002012-12-07T13:58:27.992-08:00Blackheart Beauty Oil Slick and Revlon Nail Art Stencils

I have a concert to go to tonight, so of course I needed something awesome to wear! I decided to try out my new Blackheart Beauty Oil Slick. I also decided that this would be a good time to use the Revlon Nail Art Stencils I've been hoarding.

I am, admittedly, a bit of a nerd. Some of you may have noticed this. So when I learned that the Distant Worlds concert series was having a special 25th Anniversary show in Chicago of course I had to go! I'm not the Final Fantasy addict I used to be but the music is just so beautiful and nostalgic. I try to see this concert every year and it has never disappointed.

The show is pretty casual but I feel so rude going to see an orchestra dressed down, so I always go at least semi-formal. So, to reflect that, I wanted something unique on my nails that wasn't too flashy.

To achieve this look I started by applying two coats of L.A. Colors Circuits, followed by two coats of Blackheart Beauty Oil Slick. Oil Slick could certainly reach opacity on it's own but I didn't want to have to build up three or four layers. I felt a black base was a better idea.

Next, I pulled out my Revlon Nail Art Stencils and got to work. I used Essie No Place Like Chrome to stencil my stars. I have to say, I really liked working with these. The stencils were easy to use and the resulting stars were very crisp. You can even reuse the stencils a few times if you're careful with them. My only complaint is that these are pretty expensive.

Overall, I'm very happy with this manicure! I actually got a whole host of new Blackheart Beauty polishes and I hope to have them swathed and ready to show you very soon. But now I have to go get ready for the concert!Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-50096157272608319982012-12-03T14:59:00.000-08:002012-12-03T14:59:59.444-08:00An Experiment in Purple

I'm moving in a little over a week. I've been doing a lot of packing and reorganizing. I actually found a box tucked in the back of my closet that was from the last time I moved over three years ago.

And guess what? There was nail polish in that box!

In this forgotten stash I found a bottle of Rimmel Pink Flash, a very pretty color-shift topcoat, and a bottle of Sinful Colors Rich in Heart, which is a very deep plum with a touch of red shimmer. There was also a ton of assorted art stuff in the same box, including a container of Micropearl Pearl-Ex powdered pigment.

I thought it would be fun to try to incorporate all three of these finds into the same manicure.

I started with three coats of Sinful Colors Rich in Heart. After allowing it to dry, I applied two coats of Rimmel Pink Flash. Pink Flash gave the dark plum color of Rich in Heart a very pretty frosted finish, but I thought the application was a tad streaky. To disguise this, I applied a top coat and sprinkled the Micropearl Pearl-Ex powdered pigment over my nails while it was still wet. It resulted in very pretty silvery splotches and the streaks are no longer noticeable.

I can't believe I had all this laying hidden in the back of my closet! I wonder what else I have?Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-3052576627226832732012-12-01T08:42:00.000-08:002012-12-01T08:47:29.508-08:00Variegated Black Leaf

Here's another manicure inspired by my large collection of forgotten art supplies. I give you the Variegated Black Leaf manicure!

Variegated Black Leaf is a type of metal leaf. Metal leaf is a very thin foil used for decorating surfaces. It comes in all different colors and types, from pure gold to imitation. In my opinion, Variegated Black Leaf looks as if an oil spill took place on a lake of molten gold. It's beautiful.

I've been toying with the idea of using it in a manicure for a while but I wasn't sure where to start. My first attempt didn't turn out very well so I set the idea aside but I've finally decided to revisit it.

I wanted some color under the metal leaf in case the application was uneven. So, I started off by painting my nails using Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow. Then, in order to get a nice golden finish, I added a coat of L.A. Colors Wave Length. I seriously love this color for layering! Yey cheap polish!

After my nails were completely dry, I brushed on a thin layer of white craft glue. I used PVA, a pH neutral water soluble adhesive. I allowed it to get tacky before carefully laying the Variegated Black Leaf over my nails. I then smoothed the metal leaf using a cotton swab. I repeated the process a second time in order to get a more varied look and to fill in a few small spots where the leaf didn't adhere.

I had some slight creases here and there. The finish didn't appear perfectly smooth. Instead, it had more of a burnished look, though it felt smooth to the touch. In an attempt to disguise this, I applied a thick coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush. Oddly enough though, you can't even see it. I think the flakes in the polish are too similar in color to the metal leaf. If I move my hand just right I can catch a bit of the color shift but it is very subtle.

I'm still very happy with this, even if it isn't as flawless as I'd hoped it would be. It's so lovely in person!

Here's another nerdy manicure! Once again inspired by the new Dreamworks film, Rise of the Guardians. I based this one on Pitch Black and the Sandman. I loved the effects used for these two characters. Really pretty swirling clouds of golden dreams and blue-black nightmares.

This is a pretty straight forward water marble. For the dark nails, which are supposed to be reminiscent of Pitch's Nightmares, I started off by painting my nails black using L.A. Colors Circuits. For the marbling, I used Essie Aruba Blue, Sinful Colors Let's Talk, Sally Hansen Eel Skin and Wet n' Wild Eggplant Frost.

For the golden Sandman nails, I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, followed by a single coat of L.A. Colors Wave Length. The water marble was done with Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, L.A. Colors Wave Length, Sinful Colors Cloud 9 and L'Oréal Because You're Worth It.

I absolutely love how this came out! This was my second try at attempting this manicure and the first one fell flat because I attempted to marble the golds and blacks together. It resulted in some pretty funky color mixing that, while not unattractive, wasn't at all what I was going for. I'm much happier with this. I think the two water marbles work really well together.

What do you think? Yes or no to using two different water marbles in the same manicure?Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-20443014062320881452012-11-26T20:32:00.000-08:002012-12-01T08:47:56.377-08:00Jack Frost

My boyfriend took me to see Rise of the Guardians during Thanksgiving break. I like animated films, but I'll admit this one was especially awesome. So good, in fact, that I decided to honor it with a manicure.

The film had such beautiful special effects. They were very tasteful and definitely not over the top, which was great! I hate how so many movies lately are just overloaded with special effects and everything else is sadly lacking. So, in honor of Jack Frost and his powers over ice and snow, I decided to do a water marble and stamping combo.

Using Essie Sweet Talker, I started off by painting my nails light blue. For the water marble I used Nicole by OPI Rich in Spirit, Sally Hansen Model Behavior and Sally Hansen Eel Skin. I was going for a swirling icy wind type of effect.

Finally, using Essie No Place Like Chrome and Bundle Monster plate BM-323, I stamped on some snow flakes.

I have another manicure based on the film planned but I need to redo it. I wasn't satisfied with the results.

So, anyone else not afraid to admit they still like animated films?Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08129315500639016270noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-154301864509468190.post-72968875542080927042012-11-24T18:59:00.000-08:002012-11-24T18:59:05.941-08:00Studio Ghibli Inspired: Soot Sprites

Today I pay homage to one of my favorite animators, Hayao Miyazaki.

This Soot Sprite manicure was actually suggested to me by my boyfriend. It was also his idea to do it over a black splattered base. Seriously, he's way more creative than me! His ideas are always awesome.

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as my base color. I added black splatters using L.A. Colors Circuits. The bodies of the Soot Sprites were made using a dotting tool, and their eyes were carefully done with a sewing pin.

They all look so derpy! The only thing left to do is to feed them Kompeito candy.

Any other Studio Ghibli fans out there?
