Today I have a great textured polish to show you. This is Glam Roc, from the Julep Maven February subscription box. Glam Roc is a lightly textured deep purple matte glitter with hints of gold and green.

Layla Mercury Twilight

Today I want to show you Mercury Twilight, a beautiful linear holographic polish by Layla. Like any holographic polish, Mercury Twilight comes to life in full natural lighting but it looks lovely under artificial lighting as well! This is a powerful full spectrum holo and I can't recommend it enough.

Hard Candy Pop Rocker

Black Tie Optional and Pop Rocker.

You may have heard that Hard Candy recently released new glitter polishes. I picked up a bottle of Pop Rocker because the red was by far my favorite. These new glitters are fairly similar to the Hard Candy black and white glitter Black Tie Optional, though they lack the large black hex glitter.

I love unusual animal prints, as you have perhaps noticed. Today's manicure was inspired by my love of horses - specifically dappled grey horses.

I realized that it's been a while since I've done a water marble. Water marbling is one of my favorite techniques, so I obviously had to remedy this!

My fiance woke me up early yesterday suggesting that we drive to the coast. It was a chilly overcast Monday, which was a welcome reprieve from the heat and humidity Maine has been getting. The perfect day to go to the ocean!

Hello, everyone! I am so sorry for my absence! Life has been rather crazy, but luckily it's been crazy in a good way. I got engaged on July 5th to my boyfriend of two years and we've been enjoying the summer as best we can given the temperamental and unpredictable weather we're having in Maine.

The never ending humidity has made regular manicures very difficult (ugh, air bubbles and sticky polish!) but enough is enough. Time to get back to business.

Happy National Doughnut Day!

In case you didn't know, today is National Doughnut Day! Time to celebrate the joy that can only be found in a glazed fried pastry!

Unfortunately for me, the only doughnut repository in my area is Dunkin Donuts. There's two in the very small town I live in. It's honestly a little disturbing just how many locations they have in Maine. So, you'll have to forgive me for not being able to present wonderful, fresh, gorgeous, warm and gooey confections to you. I was, however, able to snag a strawberry glazed doughnut with sprinkles. It'll have to do.

Galaxy Nails in Honor of 1998 QE2

Today the Near-Earth asteroid, 1998 QE2, will be making a fly by. I'm a huge geek, and I love space, so I figured this was as good a time as any to finally sit down and do some galaxy nails.

Galaxy nails are something I've attempted before but they never came out exactly as I'd hoped they would... Which is why I've never posted any here. So, instead of going all out and risking another messy failure, I decided to just stick to the basics.

I am so sorry for my long absence! As I mentioned before, I recently moved from Chicago, Illinois to Western Maine. The move went very well but I've been so busy getting everything in order that I haven't had much time to myself.

I have a concert to go to tonight, so of course I needed something awesome to wear! I decided to try out my new Blackheart Beauty Oil Slick. I also decided that this would be a good time to use the Revlon Nail Art Stencils I've been hoarding.
