Salon Perfect Neon Collision

Kaboom, Jolt, Bang and Zapped

I'm sure the beautiful Neon Collision matte neon glitters by Salon Perfect need no introduction. Let's get right to the swatches, shall we?

My local Walmart has actually had these polishes happily situated next to the bathing suits for a few weeks now. I bought them immediately but didn't have time to properly swatch them until now. This was made even more difficult by the insistent rain we're been having here. It's so difficult to get nice photos when everything is dark and dismal. I really need to construct a light-box!

I decided to swatch these polishes side by side in order to showcase their lovely complementary nature. Kaboom and Zapped, turquoise and green, were layered over a white base and I used at least three coats for full coverage. A bit of dabbing in order to fill in some patchy spots was necessary as well. Application was a little tedious but about what I expected really.

Bang and Jolt, the orange and yellow polishes in the collection, were also applied over a white base. I absolutely love these two! They're so bright. Sadly I am missing Exploded, the reddish orange polish in this collection. I was not able to find at the local Walmart. It didn't appear that any had sold out so maybe it just didn't make it onto the display?

Last, but not least, we have Shocked. Shocked is a lovely blend of pink and blue. Strangely, this polish doesn't have a complementary color mate, so I swatched it all by its lonesome. That's alright though, because Shocked is fabulous. Instead of layering it over white, I decided to try it over a colored base. I used Sinful Colors Cream Pink and it's actually a pretty good match for the pink in Shocked. It made the application quite a bit easier, and much more forgiving. This is only two coats, as opposed to the three or more required when layering these over a white base.

So, what do you think? Have you tried the Neon Collision collection yet?
