Jade

I really love doing stone inspired nails. I've been planning a bunch of different manicures and I've finally gotten around to realizing this one - Jade!

Layla Mercury Twilight

Today I want to show you Mercury Twilight, a beautiful linear holographic polish by Layla. Like any holographic polish, Mercury Twilight comes to life in full natural lighting but it looks lovely under artificial lighting as well! This is a powerful full spectrum holo and I can't recommend it enough.

Dapple Grey

I love unusual animal prints, as you have perhaps noticed. Today's manicure was inspired by my love of horses - specifically dappled grey horses.

Nautical Gradient

My fiance woke me up early yesterday suggesting that we drive to the coast. It was a chilly overcast Monday, which was a welcome reprieve from the heat and humidity Maine has been getting. The perfect day to go to the ocean!

Calico

Hello everyone! Today I finally got around to experimenting with some calico patterned nail art. I've been wanting to try this for a while now. I don't know why I waited so long! I absolutely love how this came out!

Blackheart Beauty Oil Slick and Revlon Nail Art Stencils

I have a concert to go to tonight, so of course I needed something awesome to wear! I decided to try out my new Blackheart Beauty Oil Slick. I also decided that this would be a good time to use the Revlon Nail Art Stencils I've been hoarding.

Inspired by Rise of The Guardians, Again: Pitch Black and the Sandman

Here's another nerdy manicure! Once again inspired by the new Dreamworks film, Rise of the Guardians. I based this one on Pitch Black and the Sandman. I loved the effects used for these two characters. Really pretty swirling clouds of golden dreams and  blue-black nightmares.

Jack Frost

My boyfriend took me to see Rise of the Guardians during Thanksgiving break. I like animated films, but I'll admit this one was especially awesome. So good, in fact, that I decided to honor it with a manicure.

Distressed Lace

Today's mani actually started out as a mistake. Instead of stripping it and starting over I decided to play around and see if I could salvage it.

This is the result.

Pink Water Marble

I had the idea to do a galaxy manicure today but it just wasn't working out. My colors all looked too saturated and they weren't blending well. So I stripped it and tried again. Still not quite right. I decided to save it for another day and do a water marble instead.

Blue Saran Wrap Technique

Pumpkins fresh from the patch.

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging over the last few days. I went on a weekend trip to Southern Illinois with my boyfriend. We had a blast! We went hiking at the Garden of the Gods. It was gorgeous! We even went to a pumpkin patch where we explored the straw mazes, went on a carriage ride and catapulted some gourds. Good old redneck fun.

Let me show you the polish I was wearing for the occasion.

Wolf Fur

I love animal prints. However, as we near Halloween, I'm beginning to question the seasonal appropriateness of cheetah and zebra print. Thus was born the wolf fur manicure.

Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge Day 1: Water Marble

This is day one of the Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge. Would you believe this is my first challenge? I always wanted to participate in one but I was always seemed to find out about them a bit too late. Not this time!

Grey and Gold

This is my entry into the Gorgeois' Color Combination giveaway. I knew I wanted to enter this giveaway but I had no idea what sort of unusual color combination I wanted to try. I originally thought I'd do burgundy and baby blue but I finally settled on grey and gold.

Concrete

I've seen many manicures that are described as looking like concrete or asphalt, but they're usually just a grey base with some sort of flaky or glitter applied. I wanted to try something a little rougher, something with a bit more dimension.
