Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge Day 3: Bloody Nails

Here I am on day three of the Nail-Aween challenge; Bloody Nails. No one said the blood had to be human. No one said it couldn't be, for instance, radioactive zombie blood.

I had originally planned to do this using only Sally Hansen Limestone but the polish didn't splatter well, even when mixed with a bit of clear top coat. To get around this I did a second layer of splatter with Nicole by OPI One Time Lime. The two colors are fairly similar, with Limestone having more of a yellow tone.

I like the added dimension I got by using two similar colors, even if it isn't immediately apparent.

I didn't bother taping anything off. Clean up wasn't too bad, though One Time Lime is a mega stainer. You can still see a bit of a greenish hue on parts of my skin.

Here's what I used:

  • L'Oreal Base Coat - Base coat
  • Sally Hansen White Out - Base color
  • Sally Hansen Polar Bare - Applied to soften the base color
  • Sally Hansen Limestone - Splatter
  • Nicole by OPI One Time Lime - Splatter
