Studio Ghibli Inspired: Soot Sprites

Today I pay homage to one of my favorite animators, Hayao Miyazaki.

This Soot Sprite manicure was actually suggested to me by my boyfriend. It was also his idea to do it over a black splattered base. Seriously, he's way more creative than me! His ideas are always awesome.

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as my base color. I added black splatters using L.A. Colors Circuits. The bodies of the Soot Sprites were made using a dotting tool, and their eyes were carefully done with a sewing pin.

They all look so derpy! The only thing left to do is to feed them Kompeito candy.

Any other Studio Ghibli fans out there?

    1. Oh you should! I think Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke are my favorites.

He's got a new one coming out this summer, too. ^___^
